Keep Calm.......

     

Hii girls,

Today is a last working day of this week and probably in next week all of us going to complete our internship. Though here we miss each other a lot after this we are going to miss our internship place, because apart from knowledge and experience it also give us memories for life.  My internship journey is so memorable and it remains with me always.  Today in QMed also we are discussing about my internship programme where I realize that I just have four more days here.  Though I don't want to left QMed I have to do that because may be some more opportunities waiting for us.  

Today ma'am told me the secret of her organised work.  She told me about one website Calm Achiever which is an organization help people to organize there work properly.  She advice me to attend their workshop as she believe it has impact on her own life.Though it is not part of my internship she assign me the task to manage my all activities as per Calm Achiever formula.  So this exercise is going to be very helpful for me.

For guidance she also show her calendar to me where she note all the important tasks. And I feel so special when I saw my name in her calendar where she wrote morning for Swapnali.😄

Even we celebrate Holi in office but not with colours and water.  The sweet wishes along with Yummy brownie and sweet dates make the Holi party special. So this special day with very special people always remain with me.......

Women's Day

Hello interns,

First of all a very happy women’s day to all of you.  I hope you all have celebrated this special day in some way or other.    Even we may enjoy it more if we are there in SHPT today. But anyway it is fine as we can experience some different way of celebration at our internship place.  Though in QMed every day is Women’s Day for us because there are all ladies expect one Rajendra who is there to help us in our work.  His role is very important in QMed because without his tea it is very difficult for us to work in the hard time, after lunch. He is very positive and always ready to help us all.  Let us not discuss much about him after all it is a women’s day.  So, today in the morning ma’am wish everyone on this day and then we spend some time talking the special women’s in our life.  In lunch break Pravati ma’am brought sweets for all.

Even I had lot of discussion with Vasu ma’am on various topics related to “QMed”.  As she love to talk she explain me various things from websites of donors, Home ministry, FCRA, QMed e-learning. She even tell stories on bank incidents, how her driver son is naughty, features of I-phone and many more.  It is treat to listen and talk with her, because she has some qualities where you never get boar with her.

In all that celebration I learnt one new thing that is iSpring Suite 8.  It is basically a paid software which has features of creating interactive lessons for E- learning.  As QMed is working on its E- learning project we use it for creation of ppt and quizzes.  The software has many features in which we can add audio, video, links and even characters.  It is fun exploring it.  I hope I could use it in my next presentation.

Computer skills.....

Hellooo everyone,

As I said earlier every day is I have something new to learn in QMed, today I have entire online learning day.  The things I learned today are useful for me for rest of life.  Today “The software expert of QMed”, and a very nice lady Fatima Shaikh taught me WordPress which we are using to manage our online directory and advance features of HTML. 

The special thing is they give me the assignment for practice under their supervision. And I made it correctly in first attempt and then she told me to do same in actual online platform.  Initially I am little scared because whatever I am doing it get published on their website, but when I make first entry and ma’am approve it the fear get replaced by excitement and then I add 3 new entries and publish at my own in their directory.  But the work is very interesting where I have to search various medical related websites and if they are not presented in our directory, just have to add it.  And more excited thing is that they give me a username and password of their system.  But all this have a joy, responsibility, new learning and life.

The course gave me many thing and one of that is computer knowledge, because I still remember my first day in classroom when I was using a computer.

Homework after a long time !!!

Hope you all use your voting right today and enjoying one more holiday.  This holiday announcement takes me back to my school days when we saw a peon with notice entering into a class before us  and when hear the noise of 'Yeeeeee' from that class and somehow rightly guess that it might be the notice of holiday,
One more thing yesterday reminds me my school.  Yesterday in QMed ma'am gave a very interesting task of understanding and working on ordering procedure of  and workflow of ordering materials for our users.  As everybody there is blessed with outstanding teaching skills, the staff of ordering department explain that me to very well.  A first demo only clear my all doubts.  Then ma'am gave me some exercise to practice and I get my homework.  The exercise is so interesting I brought it to home and finish it on the same day evening.
So my everyday here is like memory where I am learning new things every time and know have many to learn ahead.    

For Special Saturday

How are you all, hope you all enjoyed this week of internship. 

As I mention in my last blog that I am going to KEM Hospital with Mrs. Sriganesh to attend her lecture for Medical students. So I went there and experience so many good things, so I decided to share with you.

First thing is the presentation and teaching skills of our Ma’am.  Before the lecture began I felt that how students, especially the medical students who are so much busy in their study and practice can sit for 9am-4 pm lecture.  But when the lecture starts I automatically get the answer.  When she starts talking with us we all went in the new world where we can only think of the PubMed and Mendeley. Her teaching, interaction, expression, confidence, style of asking and responding to question all show her efforts and preparation for the lecture.

The lecture reminds me our information literacy program for first year where we are suppose teach to Bibliography and now I realize what mistakes we did there.  When Jyoti ma’am told us create situation in queries, now I can understand what situations are expected from us.  Because in the lecture all situations are such that even I feel like a doctor while solving those queries.

Next thing is time management.  Our ma’am is very punctual and most important is she managing to do that very well.  I come to know about that on my first day only, when she told me to go through the important parts of QMed website and give me a list which she prepare for me where she mention the time to spend on reading each part. And same thing I experienced on Saturday.

Last thing is confidence, resourcefulness and ability of anticipation.  Her efforts and practice before a lecture gave her the first two things but she think of the problems might occur during the lecture and prepare for them in advance.  So, she carried extra notepads, pens, power banks, chargers etc for the students. 

With all that even we don’t want to, the lecture gets over but it give me many things for me to remember in future...........

Hii everyone,

From today onward I join my new internship at Quality Medical (QMed) Knowledge Foundation in Andheri. It is a Trust to help medical students, academicians, practitioners and consumers integrate best practices in searching medical literature, and critically appraising the same, resulting in delivery and availability of optimal health care services.

Though it sound complicated, actually it is very simple basically to help researchers of medical field. Before going there I am very nervous because I am purely from Arts background and I hate science. But the first visit to QMed convert my fear into happiness. The people here are so nice and all welcomed with smiling faces. Then I met the founder of QMed, Mrs. Vasumathi Sriganesh. She is such a nice lady,very helpful, genuine and very very understanding. We talked with each other for nearly an hour, but she never make me feel that she is my 'BOSS'. During lunch I met all the lovely staff and share our lunch together. Even we have two tea breaks in between to relax in between.

We all talk a lot, but only thing is strictly in English. So it is going to improve my English along with many things.

Enjoying a lot and expecting the same to continue...............

Apart from work......

Hiii girls,

Today almost all of us completed 2 weeks of internship, and I am sure that you all are working nicely at your place.  Though this time goes very fast, we miss each other a lot.  These initial two weeks went in adjusting many new things like travelling, timings, new environment, work culture and most important is adjusting with new people.  But now we are getting comfortable with all of this.  

Among the many new thing, the internship gave me four new friends.  As we five people working in same cabinet and we go together, we talk with each other a lot on many topics.

The speciality is that all of us belongs to different state of India, like Punjab, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra.  We share much on our own culture, life style, speciality of each region and most important is food. 

The one girl from Assam, Anulekha Sharma is very nice girl and she lived in Churchgate hostel only.  She is trained classical singer and she shows her videos on YouTube.  She signs during work also and it’s a treat to listen her during lunch break.  In extend we also make a plan of visiting North East in next December.  Though it is difficult to happen we are happy in visualising and dreaming it.

The company of these people making my internship comfortable, enjoyable and memorable…….
